Dashboard manipulation automation industry
At the R+D centre, approval activities are carried out for all kinds of processes which will later become projects and will be put into practice. We can see the fitting of a dashboard within the vehicle's cockpit using a robot. The system is based on the robot support for instrument panel assembly line operatives for a car. The robot recognizes the strategic points on the dashboard and the vehicle platform using a vision system.
The robot, using a vision system, recognizes the points located strategically over the dashboard and thanks to a special claw design for such a purpose, it holds the dashboard and introduces it into the vehicle cockpit. The operatives are in charge of finishing the job with mechanical fixings to the vehicle structure.
